Alvaro will come good for us, insists Bristol City boss Johnson

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson is backing Alvaro Saborio to make the Coca-Cola Championship grade.
Signed on a season-long loan from Swiss First Division club FC Sion at the end of August, the Costa Rica international forward has been quick to establish himself as Nicky Maynard's regular strike partner.
Yet a series of wasted opportunities in front of goal have caused some to question Saborio's ability to adapt to the extreme demands of English football's second tier.
The South American was guilty of missing two sitters in the recent Championship clash with Derby County at Pride Park, a game City eventually lost 1-0. And he squandered another great chance to open the scoring against Blackpool at Ashton Gate last week.
But Johnson is confident his latest signing will come good in front of goal and is quick to remind the doubters there is more to Saborio's game than simply putting the ball into the back of the net. People must not be too quick to judge Alvaro," warned the manager. "They have to remember how difficult it is to come out of the Swiss First Division into a league as competitive as the Championship.
"I would not have brought him on board unless I had faith in him and I'm sure he will do well here.
"He is the first to admit that he could have scored more goals, but he already has one and, when he gets another, more will follow. Alvaro is a natural finisher and I'm not worried on that account. If you look at the games he has played so far, you can see he takes up good positions and times his runs into the penalty area. He will always get chances."
At 27 and with a World Cup and World Club Championship under his belt, Saborio is no spring chicken and Johnson believes that experience will stand his new striker in good stead.
"I'm confident he can handle himself in this league," said the Londoner. "Alvaro is used to playing in big games, in massive stadiums in front of big crowds and he knows what he's about.
"It's his all-round game that first attracted me to him. He doesn't just score goals, he creates them for others.
"Alvaro is a creative player with an eye for a pass and, if he's not getting in behind defences himself, he's helping his team-mates do it. Just look at the pass he played to put Nicky Maynard in against Blackpool the other night – not many players would have attempted it, let alone seen the opportunity."
Top-scorer Maynard and Saborio have already established a good understanding and, judging by the number of goal-scoring opportunities they have already created for one another, the pair appear to be on the same wavelength.
It was Saborio's superb assist which allowed Maynard to net a spectacular equaliser at Coventry last month and the roles were reversed when the £2.25 million record-signing set-up the South American's first goal in English football against Scunthorpe a week later.
Both are now benefiting from Evander Sno's growing influence. Signed on loan from Ajax shortly before the transfer deadline, the former Dutch Under-21 international took time to regain match sharpness and break into the starting line-up. But since being deployed in an advanced midfield role just behind the two main strikers, he has increasingly looked the part.
And Sno's vision and range of passing will surely create chances for Maynard and Saborio.
"We have become a more creative side since Alvaro and Evander arrived," said Johnson. "They have the tools to unlock defences with a single pass and, although we're not yet taking as many chances as we would like, we are making more than we were. Evander needed time to get up to Championship speed. "
